Sarah Reeves (London)
Just back from seeing it - it is amazing!!!
1. So true to the book, way more book bits included than we got with Twilight
2. Bella writing to Alice is a great way of explaining to the viewer what Bella is thinking and going through once Edward is gone.
3. JACOB!!! Wow you will be blown away, as Jacob Taylor Lautner is funny, romantic, energetic and even very sad at points, as a wolf he is just dominant! He totally carries the film on his broad, muscly shoulders! His chemistry with Kristen is amazing.
4. The Wolves - amazing CGI effects, so believable
5. New Moon has some really funny lines and this humour really helps against the angst Bella is describing
6. Kristen Stewart has really grown into Bella, she seems stronger, less awkward (my friend thought she was way less annoying this time round!)
7. The soundtrack is fab!
8. The scene where "time passes" for Bella after Edward has left is perfect!!
9. Scenes with Jessica and Mike are very funny!
10. The scenes with Victoria and the wolves persuing her are very dramatic and you really get an idea of how fast and strong these charachters are!

Any improvements - the Cullens contacts are way more prominent this time and a little distracting - you WOULD notice them in a crowd!
There is very little of the Cullens and Volturi but I guess we'll see a lot more in Eclipse and BD.
Some guys in the audience thought the ending was a bit of an anti-climax but I loved it, it sets up Eclipse perfectly!

Will definately see it again! And SOON!

went yest to see it, omg i was so amazed, felt they were true to the book and didnt miss out any important scenes!! i too felt that ks did a fine job this time round and that the chemistry was better with edward!! not really a team jacob fan but so fell in love with him!! thought dakota fanning was a perfect choice for jane, she looked so sweet but creepy at the same time!!! was left wanting more at the end, real cliffhanger

I went to the midnight premier last night. I thought they did a really good job with it and stayed true to the book. Yes, the did leave out some scenes but it is a 500+ page book so they can't include everything.
The Cullen's aren't in it much, but they aren't in the book much. So we will see much more of them again in Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.
I thought Dakota Fanning made a good Jane and the rest of the Volturi was good as well.
Now comes the hard part waiting for the Eclipse movie!

Just came back from watching new moon. I thought it was great wasnt at all disappointed thought jacob was fantastic he's such a natural, and sooo gorgeous, terrific actor. i agree wiv sarah on the eye colour of the cullens it was like they were sponsering some new contact lenses!! Theres alot more humour than in twilight which is great because the film is so intense. I think bella is even more pretty in this film n glad 2 c she got a bit more colour in her cheeks she looked just as pale as the vamps in twilight! the movie captured the essence of the book alot more and left a great opening 4 eclipse 2 carry on. Wolves were frightning but brilliant n i loved pauls slap in the face lol that was fab he deserved it that dude needs 2 chill out lol cant wait 2 c alot more edward (you can never have 2 much edward) in the next movie n alot more action!!!!

I DID re-read Twilight and New Moon before going to see the movie this morning (only about 20 people in the theather at 10:30a!!). I'm so glad that I did and I agree 100% with all the points Sarah Reeves mentions above...and definitely with the effects of the sparkle. SO, all that said, unfortunately for my husband, the quality of the movie and how they stay so true to the book only add to my already out of control addiction/obsession!! :)
